Ukrainian refugees need help. That’s why proceeds of the sale of the latest Solid Rock Blues Band album on March 4, 2022 will be donated to “Giro 555” (national refugee help in the Netherlands).
BandCamp wil hold Bandcamp Fridays in 2022 on March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th, meaning they won’t charge us any fees for the sales so the full payment will be used to help the Ukrainian refugees and you’ll get the album as a gift from the Solid Rock Blues Band in return!
The long awaited release of the Solid Rock Blues Band’s latest album Stone-Blind is here! Today the album including eleven original rock, blues, country and folk songs was released after over a year of writing and recording.
Stone-Blind is the 20th release of singer-songwriter & composer Rudy’s studio band projects!
Blinded by love, fear, resentment, circumstances, politics, social developments. In 11 songs with blues, rock and folk influences, an exploration of today’s society. With all its beautiful but also dark sides. Loss, broken hearts, death and destruction. But also a nice walk, love and sometimes… a feeling of joy and happiness.
Free Bonus Track
The album is available for download for only €5 at BandCamp and US$5 at SoundClick. At BandCamp and SoundClick there’s a free, acoustic, bonustrack included you can download at no cost.
Of course it’s up to you if you buy it or not (we would really appreciate it if you do or buy one or two tracks) but you can also stream it for free!
Recording and production
On the album you will find two co-writes, “Gave Up on Givin’ Up” and “Stones for Bread”. Al songs were recorded and mixed at the home recording studio the LoftStudio, Groningen, The Netherlands. Several songs were already released as (digital) singles and reached Top10 positions on Drooble and SoundClick.
It’s here! Don’t Say We’re Over has been officially released this week and is now available on Spotify and other online streaming services! Of course it is also still available on BandCamp since that’s where we have made our complete (back) catalogue available.
The official album release was done trough Amuse. We are considering re-releasing some older albums trough Amuse also, making them available (again) to the public trough services like Spotify and Amazon Music. Our experiences with DistroKid were fine so far but didn’t turn out to be successful in terms of sales. So we’re giving Amuse a try for distribution! So far, so good! Amuse has delivered the album to all platforms we’ve opted for and all went perfectly well.

The official album release will be around October 4th. The album has been submitted for release trough Amuse. We are currently considering re-releasing some older albums trough Amuse also making them available again to the public trough services like Spotify and Amazon Music. Our experiences with DistroKid were fine so far but didn’t turn out to be successful in terms of sales. So we’re giving Amuse a try for distribution! In the end it’s not really sales that are our main goal but getting the music out there the most effective way. It seems Amuse will fit the bill for us.
Yes! Back at Soundclick and charting already! The Solid Rock Blues Band, previously known as Barking Aunts and YAOMB (Yet Another One Man Band) started on IUMA, mp3.com and.. SoundClick.
[Updated May 14,2020]
Well over 25,000 streams on SoundClick in only a few years convinced me (Rudy) there were at least some people who liked my music and I continued to build a following and friendships on SoundClick, some of the people I’ve gotten to know over there are still good friends! However, SoundClick was getting behind, had lot’s of technical issues, the forum was closed down and the place was “taken over” by people (artists) creating and selling “beats”. Not the place anymore for a musician like me.
However, SoundClick got their act together some time ago and we finally also managed to login to the site again (after four years..!) and uploaded the latest album “Solar Powered Love” yesterday. It was, to our surprise, an “instant hit” hitting #59 at the Blues Charts within 24 hours!
Soon after it landed on #1 in the BluesRock Charts and #2 in the general Blues Charts. Amazing! We are really happy and grateful this happened!
On May 5th, it’s National Liberation Day in the Netherlands. We remember being liberated 75 years ago by the Americans, British, Canadian and Polish troups on may 5th, 1945. This liberation was done ‘by force’. By the use of weapons. By bloodshed of many young man who died for the liberty of others.
This song has been written to honor all those that died for freedom, all those that suffered from war. And to remember us there are still many who suffer from war, all over the world. Since I do not want to make money off this specific track, it’s available as a free download at SoundCloud and Drooble.
The track is also included on the latest Solid Rock Blues Band Album, “Solar Powered Love”, available at BandCamp.
Every year liberation day is celebrated with big festivals all over the country. Including (free) popfestivals. In the province of Groningen, where I live, they planned to have a big festival also in the main capital, the city of Groningen. Singers/songwriters, bands and others were invited to write an original song about the liberation, under the name “Sounds of Freedom”. But the corona (covid19) virus also hit our country. I wrote a song for this contest, inteded to do a demo-recording, and hoped someone would be willing to (record and) sing it for the contest.
I expected the contest to be postponed, just like the festival. But it wasn’t. So, I missed out on the change to submit it but decided not to leave the song in some drawer and finished the recording to be included on the new album. On this track I played all instruments: drums, bass, guitars.
Country-rock and blues inspired by life, the news and personal experiences. Celebrating the 18th album from the LoftStudio. So I guess where now going towards adulthood right? This album contains 7 tracks by One-Man-Band studio project the Solid Rock Blues Band. All instruments were played and programmed by Rudy, the singer-songwriter and studio-engineer. Yes, it’s a 100% solo studioproject this time!
All tracks were recorded at the LoftStudio Home Recording studio. Additional song writing by my friend and award winning songwriter R.J.F. Mensies on the track “The Second Time”.
If you’d like to buy it: on May 1st BandCamp waives all fees! Thanks for listening and your support. All songs are originals, no covers here! For only USD 4.00 you can download the full album from bancamp. If you want to download only a few songs the price is only USD 0.70/track. Click on the link below to listen or buy the album.
Songs with Blues, Rock & Roll, Country Rock and Indie Rock influences and with a touch of Post Punk. Guitar oriented songs using Gretsch and Telecaster electric guitars as well as acoustic guitars, an occasional keyboard and even tambourines.. the Solid Rock Blues Band at it’s best!
Proud to announce another EP from my one-man-band-studio-project was released on BandCamp, SoundCloud and of course on Drooble!
The album consists of original songs only and one of them was a co-write with my friend and fellow Drooble user James Zheutlin with vocal contributions of singer Judith S.
Available on BandCamp of course and also on CDBaby and (soon) on all major streaming platforms. It contains three songs already on Drooble (but I’ve now updated them with the mastered versions of course).
Hope you like it as much as I did writing and recording it.
The album is available for download (only $4.95) and free streaming at BandCamp. It is also available for free streaming at Drooble and SoundCloud.
A new video has been released for the song “Wine (if the bottle would be empty)” on Youtube yesterday. The video for the track, the opening track of the new EP “Morning Ritual” is the second video we made for a track from this new EP.
The album “Morning Ritual” by the Solid Rock Blues Band hit the charts straight away after it’s release on Drooble. Three out of the four songs on the EP were in the Blues charts the day after the album was released.
We’re very happy about this of course and hope the tracks will be played even more of course.
