Solid Rock Blues Band 2022 Release “Stone-Blind” out now!

New 2022 Release Stone-Blind

The long awaited release of the Solid Rock Blues Band’s latest album Stone-Blind is here! Today the album including eleven original rock, blues, country and folk songs was released after over a year of writing and recording.

Stone-Blind is the 20th release of singer-songwriter & composer Rudy’s studio band projects!

The album is available trough BandCamp (Hq audio!), SoundClick, SoundCloud and AudioMack at the moment. It will be available trough the major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon also later on.

Stone-Blind

Blinded by love, fear, resentment, circumstances, politics, social developments. In 11 songs with blues, rock and folk influences, an exploration of today’s society. With all its beautiful but also dark sides. Loss, broken hearts, death and destruction. But also a nice walk, love and sometimes… a feeling of joy and happiness.

Recording and production

On the album you will find two co-writes, “Gave Up on Givin’ Up” and “Stones for Bread”. Al songs were recorded and mixed at the home recording studio the LoftStudio, Groningen, The Netherlands. Several songs were already released as (digital) singles and reached Top10 positions on Drooble and SoundClick.

No Limit On Love – New Single

No Limit On Love Powerfull Blues Rock Lovesong BandCamp SoundCloud Audiomack Download

No Limit (On Love) is the new single by the Solid Rock Blues Band home recording project. A lovesong, but not the standard lovesong. Fast and up-tempo power chords blues-rock.

There ain’t No Limit On Love. You can’t get no speeding ticket for loving someone so much it’s almost illegal, right? All right! So here’s our new track “No Limit (On Love)”. You can listen for free on SoundCloud, AudioMack and BandCamp.

The song was written and recorded in high speed, just as the song itself is in high speed. It took only two days to write the lyrics and music and record and mix it(!) that doesn’t make it a substandard songs. Some awesome songs were written in studio’s “on the spot”. Remember the story about U2’s album “October”? The lyrics (for some songs) were lost (stolen), so Bono had to write some lyrics while they were in the studio!

It’s a fast song, power-chords based and recorded at the Zolderstudio Homerecording Studio. It probably would fit the Bluesrock bag or Rock and Roll. Anyway – it’s about the favorite theme of most people: Love. And this is a love-song that isn’t about Red Roses and fast heartbeats.

Sing me a Song (free download)

Today I’ve recorded “Sing Me A Song”, a free song available on SoundCloud (and Audiomack also soon) in my studio. It’s less than two minutes(!) and the full lyrics are included at soundcloud. I’ve posted a short demo of it before. Including a video.

The song was recorded using Ardour Studio (here’s a video about the small and low budget studio I operate) and for the acoustic guitar I’ve used my Washburn guitar. For recording this great acoustic guitar I’ve used a (very) cheap Chinese pickup I’ve bought some time ago (video/demo). I also added a condenser mic in front of it, so it’s got two sound sources in the recording giving it more depth and ‘space’.

For drums and bass I’ve used my Digitech Trio pedal and finaclly the electric guitar is my Fender “Starcaster” Stratocaster on rhythm and lead guitar. For this guitar I used the JoYo “American” pedal. A superb pedal that works very nice with Fender guitars but also with my Gretsch of course.

Finally I recorded the vocals using my BM-800 mic. One of the best condenser mic’s you can get for the money, paid less than $20 dollar for it!

New (first) single release Solid Rock Blues Band!

Today we’ve released our first, official, single at BandCamp, Audiomack and SoundCloud. The single, an original song written bij Rudy & James, is available for download for only US$ 0.70. You can stream it for free on all sites mentioned of course.

The song is a more-or-less acoustic folk-rock song, recorded at the ZolderStudio. The song was written and composed originally by Rudy, and after the first rough demo was recorded it was send to his friend James (aka “Le Jaz”). James wrote the bridge and came up wih some advice and suggestions for the chord progression. Yesterday the final version was recorded and mixed. Today we did the ‘mastering’ and here it is!

 

ALBUM

At the moment we’re still working on songs, new original recordings and covers. We expect to have enough good tracks for a debut album for the spring of 2018. We hope to be able to publish a 12 track album but it will be at least containing eight songs, including some cover songs.
